Batch 21 graduates

The Isuzu Heart and Smile Project (IHSP), an initiative of Isuzu Motors Limited Japan (IML), proudly announces the graduation of Batch 21 from the Isuzu TESDA Auto Mechanic Training Center in Tacloban. This batch includes 17 scholars who have achieved the prestigious National Competency IV (NC IV) certification for Service Technicians.

Established in 2008, the IHSP has been a beacon of hope for underprivileged youth, offering comprehensive training that spans from NC I to NC IV within a two-year period. The program is renowned for not only its rigorous training but also its support system, providing free boarding and lodging to all trainees during their stay.

In addition to the standard TESDA curriculum, Isuzu enhances the educational experience with specialized classes on Isuzu diesel technology and other relevant topics. This holistic approach ensures that graduates are well-equipped with both general and specialized skills needed in the automotive industry.

                                                      IPC President Tetsuya Fujita.

“We are very proud of the Isuzu Heart and Smile Project as it not only provides free education to Filipino youths but also transforms their lives by offering them more opportunities to excel in this field,” said IPC President Tetsuya Fujita.

Graduates from the Isuzu TESDA Auto Mechanic Training Center also have the opportunity to further their expertise through the Isuzu Global Service Corporation (IGSC). Select graduates receive advanced training focused on light to heavy-duty truck servicing, reinforcing Isuzu's commitment to excellence in aftersales support.

During his speech, Mr. Tetsuya Ikemoto, IML Director of the Board and Managing Executive Officer Sales Division, reiterated the importance of values of the school, which is to apply effectively what they have learned, contribute to the development of their company and giving back to the family and the society. He also wished that the graduates continue to promote and raise the school’s reputation by achieving a good track record even surpassing their seniors.

With the addition of Batch 21, the school already has 403 graduates fortifying the already strong aftersales network of Isuzu worldwide. Alongside the graduation ceremony, Isuzu also welcomed Batch 25, consisting of 18 new trainees. These incoming scholars will embark on their journey this month, aiming to complete their NC IV certification within the next two years.

Isuzu's dedication to developing top-tier service technicians not only enhances its brand reputation as the number one truck brand but also ensures superior customer service. Graduates from the program have consistently demonstrated exceptional servicing skills, earning recognition both locally and internationally.
