The largest and most active car club among local Ford enthusiasts with 15,000 active members, Ford Everest Club Philippines (FECP), announced that they will celebrate their 6th Anniversary with a flurry of activities on Sunday, August 27, 2023. During a press conference at Max’s Restaurant along Tuason Street in Scout Area, Quezon City, FECP Founder Jay Cruz proudly announced that aside from raffling off a brand-new sport utility vehicle (SUV), the club’s main activity will be their official attempt to break a 10-year-old World Record.
Cruz invited everyone to be part of history as they attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records “Largest Ensemble of Car Horns”, which was held by MINI of Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, where 400 MINI cars tooted the Deep Purple song “Smoke on the Water” simultaneously on August 3, 2013. An estimated 1,300 Ford Everest SUVs will gather at New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac to conduct the official record-breaking attempt and honk their horns simultaneously to the tune of “Philippine Jeepney/Let’s Go” under the watchful eyes of adjudicators sent by Guinness.
Once the Guinness adjudicator has confirmed that the record has indeed been broken, the club members and guests will then drive their Ford Everest SUVs to form a convoy estimated to measure 10 kilometers long, which is a club tradition every time they have an “eyeball” or meet. From New Clark City, the convoy will proceed to the Subic Bay International Airport where the awarding, raffles and other activities for their 6th Anniversary celebration will be held. The penultimate raffle prize will be a brand-new 2023 Ford Everest SUV!
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman Jonathan Tan fully supports the endeavor of FECP to set a New World Record and the continue their anniversary celebration at Subic. “We’re happy that the officers and members of Ford Everest Club Philippines chose Subic Bay International Airport as the venue for their 6th Anniversary celebration”, said Chairman Tan. “Our locators and establishments at Subic Bay welcome the exposure that we will get from the World Record attempt, which can help promote local and foreign tourism and support local businesses.”
Peter Yung of Motul Philippines pointed out that Motul lubricants has always been formulated for performance. “We fully support this endeavor of FECP to attempt to set a New World Record here in the Philippines”, Yung expressed. “We are proud to be part of history where we can also prove the performance of Motul lubricants through the long, long convoy from New Clark City to Subic Bay, which is also a World Record itself.”
For their part, Bybit Community Manager Tim Gonzales is hopeful that getting into the Guinness Book of World Records will create global exposure not only for FECP but for all the parties involved in the attempt. “Bybit is currently the world’s leading assets platform and cryptocurrency exchange. By partnering with FECP in this event, we aim to promote a better understanding of cryptocurrency among local businesses and improve the digital assets management of Filipinos.”
