Likhaan Center for Women’s Health is a non-government organization which advocates for health and equality, particularly of women and poor and disadvantaged people. Some of their programs include running community-based health clinics and providing community education, organization, and mobilization in poverty-stricken communities.
On the other hand, INTECO’s partner on the donation project, WomenBizPH is an advocacy group and the lead private sector partner of the government composed of the country’s top women business leaders and entrepreneurs which promotes and empowers women in the Philippines. Together with WomenBizPH, INTECO provided assistance to Likhaan by donating an Isuzu Ambulance. With its reliability and fuel-efficiency, the unit will be of great assistance to Likhaan’s continuous program and advocacy in promoting health care for underprivileged youth and women.
Jarina stated in his speech that this donation is a tribute to two (2) empowered and respected women, Maria Anos (Anos Research Manufacturing) and Amada Ganzon Jarina (Raymond Jarina’s mother). He also commended the hard work of Likhaan to support women empowerment.
